Card Design: Contrast Cat

Cat BirthdayI have found my niche! This is another card that I designed on the computer, printed words for, and then finished with stamps, inks, colored paper, etc. This has the look that I’ve been designing for…

The card has contrast not only in the red and orange colors but also in the cut and ripped edges of paper.

To get such a thin border (1/8 of an inch), cut or tear the outer edges of your paper first, then carefully cut out the inside portion with a knife. I actually use a clear quilting ruler to measure for such tasks – it works great.

To make a calico cat, ink your stamp with a light color first, then pick up a pad of a darker color and use just a corner to dab a little here and there before stamping onto the paper.

I’m planning on buying ink pads and acrylic blocks from Stampin’ Up soon. Can’t wait to have all the new colors to play with!
