Card Design: Purple Thank You

Purple Thank YouI printed the text of this card, both English and Chinese, from the computer. The Chinese words for “thank you” are printed in lavender.

The next step was to add the circle of purple foil paper. After that, all that remained was to stamp the irises onto lavender parchment, cut out a circle, highlight the edges with black ink, and glue the flowered paper on.

Thankfully, I discovered that the glue would not stick to the slick foil paper before I mailed the card! When I noticed that it was peeling off, I removed it completely and reattached it with tape. Noted for future reference!

Update: This card has won an honorable mention from CASology! “CAS” stands for “clean and simple,” which is how I like to make cards – deliberate use of white space, balance, and NO CLUTTER! 🙂 Every week they have a new theme. This one won in Week 80: Purple.
