Card Design: Silhouette Music

French Horn

To make this card, I first made a mask (cut a rectangle out of cardstock so that the cardstock would cover up everything on my card except where I wanted the colored stripe). Within this mask, I used sponges to dab “autumn terracotta” and “olive” ink for the colored background, then randomly stamped music notes with the same colors, leaving space at the right end of the stripe for the instrument.

Next, with my beloved stamp-a-ma-jig, I positioned the French horn in the corner. Since it wasn’t a silhouette stamp to begin with, I filled it in with an 01 Prismacolor fine line black marker. Finally, I added and filled in the letters to match.
