Card Design: Vintage Quilt

Vintage QuiltThis is a fun way to use paper scraps! A square paper punch is necessary to ensure the pieces line up precisely, though.

I assembled the quilt block on a thin background sheet slightly smaller than the finished block. Folding the background sheet corner to corner each way gave me guidelines to place the center square, then I worked outward from the center.

Once the quilt block was together, I glued it to the card and “quilted” it with stitches made by a fine-point marker.

After adding the words, I put a light bit of sparkle glue on the capital letters to match the sparkle on the light blue quilt pieces. You probably can’t see it in the picture, but it provides a nice subtle effect.

I’m submitting this one to CASology in response to the cue word “vintage.”
